Position Summary The Maintenance Technician III will be responsible for, but not limited to: Calibration, Maintenance, troubleshooting, and perform repairs on the Process Instrumentation and manufacturing equipment systems. Prepare maintenance reports and details document completed work orders. Overhaul and perform corrective and preventive maintenance on plant equipment, filtration systems, centrifugal equipment, pumps, Air Handling Units, sterilization, filling equipment, Plant and Critical Utility equipment electrical controls and instrumentations to include, but not limited to, pressure/Level/Temperature/pH indicators and transmitters, electrical distribution, variable frequency drives, electric motors, and electrical control systems. Additional responsibilities may include maintaining manufacturing support systems and equipment and office building equipment /systems (i.e. monitor the building management system "BMS" and "EMS"). Essential Functions
- Assists with and performs preventive maintenance of critical plant equipment on a regular basis, including, but not limited to, Manufacturing, Filling, Sterilization Equipment, and electrical control systems as responsibility assigned to Manufacturing Maintenance in both cGMP and non-cGMP areas.
- Responsible for repairing and or replacement of the mechanical, electrical and controls components of Manufacturing, Sterilization, and Packaging Equipment as assigned.
- Performs analytical troubleshooting, repairs, and performing preventive maintenance of all utility systems including but not limited to plant equipment, filtration systems, centrifugal equipment, pumps, sterilization, filling packaging equipment and electrical controls to include, but not limited to, indicators, electrical distribution, variable frequency drives, electric motors and electrical control systems.
- Safely uses hand tools, power tools, and equipment on a daily basis to accomplish tasks.
- Conducts daily facility walk-thru inspection, identifying and resolving issues immediately
- Maintains cleanliness and safety of the shop and facilities
- Oversees maintenance services performed onsite by subcontractors
- communicate with Planning team to coordinate orders
- Supports engineering projects including but not limited to: equipment installation, commissioning, and validation process.
- Performs and adheres to Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) job plans. Updates and maintains SOPs to reflect current work practices.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies including FDA, CA FDB, OSHA, DOH, EPA, Fire Department, city audits, Health Department, etc.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams on large projects
- Attends required training and meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required with 6+ years of Process GMP, Mechanical experience required; or
- 5+ years of Process GMP, Mechanical experience with a Maintenance Certificate or Utilities Certificate required; or
- Bachelor's degree or Equivalent plus 2+ years of Process GMP, Mechanical experience required
- Experience with and working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
- (CMMS) required
- Experience with and working knowledge of facilities equipment and preventive maintenance programs required
- Critical Utility Systems (WFI, PUW, HVAC, waste neutralization, electrical generators, process utilities, etc.) required
- Experience in a Pharma-Biotech manufacturing environment strongly preferred

- Hands-on execution of maintenance of process equipment, utility equipment, and facilities
- Working knowledge of cGMPs, OSHA compliance, HVAC systems, and clean rooms, automated pharmaceutical processing, and plant equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot, and repair critical equipment including but not limited to: plant equipment, filtration systems, centripetal equipment, pumps, sterilization, filling packaging equipment, and electrical controls to include, but not limited to, indicators, electrical distribution, variable frequency drives, electric motors and electrical control systems.
- Understand the Advance process and control theory of a Critical or Major system.
- Proficient at understanding and writing reports and work instructions.
- Follow and comply with EPA, OSHA, and NFPA regulations and with SOPs and cGMP policies.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

- Ability to execute a project from ideation through implementation and into maintenance phases

- Ability to verify mechanical and electrical drawings for accuracy
Working Environment / Physical Environment
- This position reports to our onsite location in El Segundo, California.
- Local Travel required between ImmunityBio sites.
- Exposure to onsite in-lab environment
- Must be able to don and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
- Available to work off hours (weekends, holidays, after hours) to support company objectives.
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
- Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
- Must be able to lift frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds
This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus and equity award. The annual base pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications, prior experience as well as geographic location. $39.60 (entry-level qualifications) to $44.00 (highly experienced) per hour The application window is anticipated to close on 60 days from when it is posted or sooner if the position is filled or closed.
