The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate. GENERAL SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIESUnder general supervision, performs a variety of skilled duties and responsibilities involved in the maintenance, repair, service, and installation of equipment, machinery, and related facilities. Keeps records, prepares reports, and performs a variety of complex tasks related to the assigned area of responsibility. Supports the training and mentoring of lower-level mechanics and maintenance technicians while performing tasks common to the classification. Perform the tasks common to the classification under general supervision. Supports the training and mentoring of lower-level mechanics and maintenance technicians. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Oversees and directs activities of lower-level mechanics as necessary to support the overall plant operations * Leads the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment utilizing skills in welding, pipefitting, plumbing, millwrighting, and machinery * Maintains a safe work environment through job planning, hazard identification, and correction, ensuring adherence to plant safety rules and procedures * Performs complex preventative maintenance duties, including cleaning, oiling, and lubricating equipment as assigned * Plans, organizes, and lays out work in accordance with applicable standards and codes * Recommends changes to improve efficiency and/or quality of mechanical operations, as appropriate. * Provides accurate estimates of time and material required; requisitions tools and supplies in accordance with established procedures * Prepares and maintains detailed documentation and reports, as required * Reads and interprets complex plans, diagrams, and specifications * Maintains and repairs various types of heavy mobile equipment * Troubleshoots and isolates complex mechanical problems; implements corrective actions, as appropriate * Performs basic carpentry work, small engine and tool repair, as required. * Other duties as assigned or may be necessary KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES * Demonstrates ability to read and understand mechanical piping drawings, equipment assembly drawings, technical manuals and blueprints. * Demonstrates skill in performing basic welding and cutting * Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals, teams, managers, and supervisors. * Excellent organizational skills and attentiveness to detail * Proven problem-solving skills EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE * Associate degree in technical or trades with four (4) or more years in technical maintenance capacity o (OR) High School Diploma/GED with six (6) or more years in maintenance capacity Why should you join our team?
