Description: The Neenah Mill is actively seeking a Converting Supervisor who will oversee the Converting operations and assets by providing support and leadership of all safety, production and quality initiatives while driving out costs through improved asset performance and cost savings initiatives and creating an environment that populates a culture of success through communication and accountability. This position will also function as a Shift Supervisor to help cover vacations and other Supervisor absences. This position reports to the Mill Manager. Responsibilities: Safety, Quality and Regulatory Compliance * Provide leadership for mill wide safety efforts to reduce accidents/incidents to achieve a 0 OSHA recordable rate. * Exercise personal leadership to support an environment that puts a priority on providing a safe and healthy workplace for employees and conforms to applicable local, state, and federal codes and laws governing loss control. * Support and promote all safety efforts to reduce accidents/incidents. * Provide leadership to meet or exceed the Quality management goals that will ensure conformance to all customer requirements and quality standards. Optimize our Cost Structure * Achieve short- and long-term Finishing cost and performance advantage on the Neenah Mill Converting assets. * Set aggressive and realistic goals for asset R/O, Yield, and Uptime and reinforce continuous improvement. * Partner with Neenah Mill Manufacturing Asset Leaders to ensure overall mill Safety, Quality, and Production results are achieved. * Work closely with the Mill Manager, Finance Team and Continuous Improvement Leader in driving the development of a clear and comprehensive manufacturing cost reduction strategy. * Relentlessly pursue lowest total manufacturing cost solutions by understanding key drivers, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing applicable cost reduction solutions. * Implement processes and initiatives aimed at increasing employee involvement and ownership, while promoting continuous improvement. * Manage raw material inventors to levels to reduce cost without negatively affecting efficiencies. * Relentlessly pursue the reduction of operating costs & maximum operating flexibility while maintaining a bias towards quality leadership. * Position our assets to support growth initiatives through optimal balance of sustaining, cost saving and strategic capital spending. Assets (materials/inventories, equipment, personnel) properly managed, maintained and developed. * Support Continuous Improvement Initiatives. Lead Converting improvement activities & capability development * Work closely with Planning and Customer Service on developing an asset utilization strategy that promotes efficiency and cost effectiveness without jeopardizing service. * Clarify accountabilities and measure progress to drive greater employee ownership and improved operational performance. * Maintain high levels of housekeeping and sanitation. Lead organizational development by enhancing culture and developing talent. * Show definitive leadership in the development of employee skills and talents. * Drive hourly employee development and engagement in key initiatives. * Manage all corrective and disciplinary issues with consistency and fairness. * Communicate frequently and effectively with all employees, ensuring understanding of results, goals, objectives, and initiatives. * Ensure line-of-sight to mill objectives and targets. * Establish and maintain a sound working environment that encourages involvement and ownership, while maintaining motivation and enthusiasm. * Drive culture improvement by visibly aligning expectations with strategy and publicly supporting our team's improvement efforts, while ensuring consistent accountability for results, objectives, and expectations. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in engineering, paper science or related field is desired. * Prior related experience in a converting/manufacturing environment and continuous improvement processes will be considered. * A demonstrated track record of proven performance and ability to lead teams. * Experience with customer interactions; ideally collaborating with others to help define needs, identify solutions and resolve problems. * Enjoys working with and collaborating with members of operations and at all levels throughout the organization.
