Job Description:

Responsibilities

The Program Assistant I will provide administrative and programmatic support within the Division of Public Health Infrastructure to advance initiatives funded by the Public Health Infrastructure (PHI) Grant. The incumbent will support the Pathways to Public Health Internship Program, provide support for organizational culture sustainability efforts aligned with the Strategic Planning Priorities, and provide support toward the expansion of Academic Partnership Development efforts across the State.

Responsibilities will include providing support toward the planning, implementation, and evaluating of the Pathways to Public Health Internship program; assisting in the coordination of onboarding processes, program events, and intern engagement activities; helping to facilitate meetings with supervisors and interns; and collecting and organizing program data and materials. The incumbent will also assist to create content for internal employee connection publications, raising awareness of employee resources, supporting the implementation of evidenced based public health employee engagement programs. The incumbent will support activities related to maintaining institutional partnerships, attending applicable events, and supporting database and communication efforts to strengthen future public health workforce pipelines.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and one year of administrative and/or financial experience, human resources, operations or other program activities; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and three years of such experience; OR five years of such experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in public health, program management, community-based organizations, recruitment or internship development. Experience in program evaluation or data analysis. Experience communicating with diverse audiences, health education, promotional materials or marketing efforts. Proficient in MS Office programs, including, but not limited to: MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.

Conditions of Employment

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Travel, up to 25% of the time, may be required.

The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire. Telecommuting will be available.
