Protecting patient privacy, supporting quality care.

Are you detail-oriented, discreet, and passionate about patient privacy? We're looking for a Medical Records & Privacy Specialist to join our team and help ensure that all medical information is handled securely, professionally, and in full compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.

In this role, you'll be the gatekeeper for sensitive health information-working behind the scenes to protect patient rights while delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safeguard and protect patient privacy by ensuring that only authorized individuals access medical records.

  • Release information only in accordance with patient authorization, company policy, and HIPAA guidelines.

  • Maintain a professional healthcare office environment with a strong focus on confidentiality and accuracy.

  • Provide courteous, timely service to patients and other requestors.

  • Contribute to a positive image of the department and Medical Center through professional conduct and communication.

  • Collaborate with supervisors, managers, and colleagues to support a harmonious team environment.

What You'll Need:
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)

  • Completion of a college-level Medical Terminology course

  • Successful completion of alpha and numeric data entry tests

  • Understanding of federal and state regulations related to patient privacy

  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English clearly (bilingual skills are a plus)

  • Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute

  • Competent in using email, fax machines, scanners, copiers, and Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred Experience:
  • Previous work in a medical office, records department, or similar healthcare setting

  • A strong sense of discretion and attention to detail

  • A calm, professional demeanor, even in fast-paced situations

Why This Role Matters:

You'll be playing a crucial role in protecting the privacy of our patients and ensuring that sensitive information is handled with the highest level of care. You'll be part of a team that values integrity, professionalism, and service-and your work will directly support the quality of patient care throughout the organization.

If you're looking for a meaningful role where precision, privacy, and professionalism come together, we'd love to hear from you.
