Operating successfully in Green River, Wyoming, WE Soda is the world's largest natural soda ash mine and production site, offering a secure, reliable, and diverse range of high-quality product choices. WE Soda mines and processes trona ore and manufactures soda ash that is used in the production of glass, detergents, chemical manufacturing, pulp and paper production, and water treatment. In addition, the company also produces sodium bicarbonate and other chemical compounds used in common industrial, agricultural, and household applications.

Position Title: Safety Manager

Location: Green River, WY

Key Responsibilities:

* Health and safety compliance
* Security and loss prevention
* Process safety compliance
* Safety champion
* Union/Management safety partnership
* Performance of direct reports

Activities:

* Develop long and short term plans for department
* Ensure that employees within area develop skills and capabilities to meet the needs of the business
* Prepare and administer departmental budget
* Develop and administer salary plan for direct reports
* Communicate business information and activities to appropriate audiences
* Responsible for tracking and analyzing KPI data
* Communicate across department functions
* Facilitate problem solving and improvements
* Prioritize work and projects
* Coordinate area resource and staffing requirements
* Participate in site-wide networks
* Participates in weekend duty
* Ensure that appropriate safety standards are developed and implemented
* Ensure consistency of safety standards and practices across Alkali
* Oversee all site safety- and security-related programs
* Represents site in regulatory review and development activities
* Participates in industry coalitions
* Chairs or participates on Rules and Procedures Team
* Participates in the development of emergency response strategies
* Support ISO 9000 Efforts

Skill, Capability and Educational Requirements:

* B.S. degree in safety-related field or Engineering required with a minimum of 5 years of operational and/or safety experience working in an industrial setting; Supervisory experience preferred, OR
* Minimum 10 years of operational and/or safety experience in an industrial setting with a minimum of 3 years safety management experience required.
* A working knowledge of MSHA and/or OSHA standards/regulations required.

Final determination on pay grade will be made by HR and company leadership holistically considering the candidate's education, experience, past performance, demonstrated leadership and influence.
