The School of Education, Social Work, and Psychological Sciences at the University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC) announces a search for a Research Assistant at the Urban Education Research Center (UERC). The mission of the Urban Education Research Center (UERC) is to create reliable, usable knowledge about education in urban areas with the goal of promoting excellent schooling and improving the lives, opportunities and communities of urban residents in the Greater Kansas City community and the nation. The center accomplishes this mission through collaborative, data-rich strategies including technical assistance and consultation and rigorous research and evaluation Associate Director and Senior Research Assistant to support the mission and activities of the UERC. Duties... * Organize quantitative data sets in a range of formats and from a range of sources into an integrated, linked relational database * Prepare quantitative data sets for analysis, including data cleaning, geo-coding, and variable creation * Conduct statistical analysis including descriptive statistical analyses and data displays, psychometric analysis, and statistical modeling * Prepare data and conduct data analyses for UERC evaluation studies This is a 12-month, full-time, benefit-eligible, unranked academic position. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree * 2 years experience using statistical analysis software for data preparation and statistical analysis * Experience preparing and analyzing complex data involving multiple units of analysis and longitudinal records Preferred Qualifications Experience with the following: * The R programming language * Research on education, or in related social science discipline * Geographic information system (GIS) data preparation and analysis * Large scale datasets and a project-based team environment Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $25.00 per hour. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
