Overview:

As a Tax Intern, you will work on sales/use tax and corporate income tax compliances and assist with R&D studies. This is an exciting opportunity to establish and develop your career with a public, multinational company within the rapidly growing semiconductor industry. Our tax team is small but mighty and you'll get exposure to many different areas include income tax provision, GILTI /FDII and foreign tax credit within the tax function.

Duration:



  • This position requires being onsite one day a week (Tuesdays) in our Plainview, NY, office.
  • Part-time employment during the Fall & Spring semesters (a minimum of 16 hours)
  • Part or Full-time employment during the Summer & Winter breaks (24 - 40 hours a week)



Responsibilities:



  • Work on sales & use tax compliance such as reconciling the sales and use tax accounts and provide required info to outsourced consultants
  • Provide taxability advice to operating units including sales and purchase, R&D teams and assist resolving tax related issues
  • Assist with preparing consolidated federal and various state income tax returns and extensions using Thomson's OneSource RS software
  • Assist with preparing various annual information returns
  • Assist with R&D study and relevant documentation
  • Research income tax/sales and use tax issues
  • Assist in defending various federal and state income tax and sales and use tax audits
  • Support other projects as they arise



Qualifications:



  • At least a Sophomore enrolled in an Undergraduate Financeprogram or working towards a Masters in a Finance program.



Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:



  • Motivated, eager to learn
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Proficient in Excel, Word


The expected salary range for this position is $41,080-43,368, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
