Job Description IT DevOps Engineer 4100 Beechwood Dr, Greensboro, NC 27410 GROFF Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 8:00am - 5:00pm OVERVIEW: Working as Full-time IT DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for communication, collaboration, integration, automation, and the measurement of cooperation between software developers, Quality Assurance teams, and system administrators. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals. RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: o Designing, building, managing and automating application server environments (JBOSS, WebLogic, WebSphere, IIS, etc.) o Engineering and managing software product delivery release and deployment pipeline o Providing expertise and guidance to software product teams to further improve the software release process o Maintaining, improving, and documenting current systems using JIRA and Confluence o Working with Quality Assurance teams in establishing automated test scripts and scenarios as part of the deployment, and delivery model using task and test automation o Establishing effective load testing strategies for application deployment and release o Demonstrating day-to-day adherence with change control concepts and practices o Providing post-release communication to all stake-holders o Building tools for monitoring the application deployment and automating the build pipeline o Providing 24x7 support on critical systems in an on-call rotation REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position: o Possess or working towards a degree in Information Technology, Math, Statistics, Data Science, Actuarial Science or a related field of study OR possess 3 years of work experience in a DevOps or System Administration related position o Excellent written and oral communication skills o Proficient computer skills o Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented o Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment o Work independently as well as in a team environment o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork o Pass the required drug screen and background check (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY) PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: o Previous experience with configuration management systems (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, etc.) o Previous experience with continuous integration tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, TravisCI, Bamboo, etc.) o Previous scripting experience (Ruby, Groovy, Bash, PowerShell, etc.) o Knowledge of software version control tools (Git, Subversion, Surround, VSS, etc.) o Experience in tuning and optimizing JVM-based server applications. o Familiarity with message brokers (rabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, etc.) o Previous experience with cloud based infrastructure (Azure, AWS, etc.) o Familiarity with log aggregation and application performance monitoring tools (AppDynamics, Splunk, Logstash/Kibana, MetricBeat, etc.) o Configuration experience with web server and load balancing tools (i.e. Apache, HAProxy, etc.) ABOUT US: Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
