Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit |
Campus Enterprises is committed to providing service excellence, delivering a quality experience to the campus community, enriching the student experience, and supporting student success. The division comprises several units, including Dining, Bookstore, Mail Services, Spartan Card, Vending, Parking, Transportation, Sustainability, and Real Estate, and is made up of over 350 full-time and contracted services staff. Campus Enterprises' annual operating budget is approximately $30 million. |
Position Summary |
The Director of Campus Enterprises manages the development, operations, and facilities of the University's auxiliary partners, including dining, bookstore, vending, and future partnerships. Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Campus Enterprises, the Director oversees all aspects of contracted auxiliary services units, ensuring that operations meet contract terms and objectives. This role involves developing operations and business plans for contracted auxiliaries, closely tracking financial performance and contract compliance to minimize institutional risk and maximize financial support. The Director ensures continuous improvement of all contracted auxiliary services and leads the development and implementation of new contracts to serve the campus community. Additionally, the Director ensures that all contracted auxiliary units are self-sustaining and meet revenue and university contribution targets. Responsibilities include collecting and analyzing auxiliary data, preparing reports, visualizations, and presentations, and using data to make informed decisions. The Director collaborates with internal customers and stakeholders to ensure service offerings meet evolving needs and provides strategic planning, policy review, budget formulation, financial management, workforce management, and overall administration of contracted auxiliary units. The Director assures quality services are delivered by contracted auxiliary unit staff and contractor partners and handles the escalation of key service and customer relations issues. As a member of Campus Enterprises' leadership team, the Director engages in strategic planning and initiatives for Campus Enterprises and the division of Finance and Administration and participates in University committees and working groups as a representative of the department, division, or unit |
Minimum Qualifications |
- Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 10 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 8 years of relevant professional experience.
- Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
- Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Certified Auxiliary Services Professional (CASP) through the National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS).
- Experience creating and managing complex budgets.
- Working knowledge of food service and campus store operations on a university campus.
- Experience analyzing operational and budget data and making data-informed decisions.
