Summary:
The Hospital Registration Patient Access Specialist is responsible for accurately identifying patients and conducting detailed registration interviews including capturing demographic, insurance and contact information. Patient Access Specialists admit, check in and register patients of all ages and backgrounds and are exposed to sensitive patient and visitor situations. Work is performed in an office setting, at the bedside or in the clinical care environment.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Minimum of six months experience in healthcare.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Computer and data entry experience is required with Microsoft Word, e-mail, and internet communication, as well as the ability to work accurately and effectively with electronic systems.
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: N/A
