Overview

CAES Mission Systems, Lansdale, PA is seeking a Materials Analyst I to analyze materials, quantity, and costs in support of proposal activity and ongoing quantity/price variance analysis. This position will require you to analyze the Bill of Materials (BOM), coordinate with Engineering, Program Management, Sales, Procurement, Finance and other departments to define material requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Work across departments to ensure proper material quantities are quoted in the proposal phase (i.e. engineering samples, testing samples, production materials, etc.)
  • Analyze material quantities against manufactured quantities used to understand component utilization (Yield)
  • Develop accurate and complete cost estimates as a result of received supplier proposals.
  • Basic Knowledge of Material management, Purchase Order (PO) Management, and Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Analyze Bill of Material (BOM) for sourcing to supply base while selecting the most accurate and qualified sources of supply for each component.
  • Daily use of Critical Thinking to achieve more efficient operations and processes
  • Analyze historical pricing for accuracy and relevancy in current proposal basis of estimate.
  • Coordinate obsolescence issues between suppliers and Engineering for replacement or alternate parts.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS or BA in related field of study. Professional certification could also be accepted in lieu of BS or BA.
  • 0-2 years' relevant experience
  • Advanced Excel skills (including Vlookup, pivot, charting, macros a plus)
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a US person under US export laws or, eligible for approval for a U.S. Government export license. A US Person includes a US citizen, lawful Permanent Resident, refugee or asylee.
  • Ability to expedite and negotiate supplier proposals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in materials finance/analysis, estimating, and planning with a strong analytical approach
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Prior experience developing materials cost proposals
  • Knowledge of Indentured Bills of Materials
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings
