Goldbelt Integrated Logistics Services (GbILS) provides four specific areas of expertise-Logistics Engineering, Measurement Sciences, Program Management, and Technical Support-serving the scientific, technical, and engineering needs of clients. Summary:

The Material Expeditor is responsible for locating and moving materials and parts between work areas to expedite processing of goods, according to pre-determined schedules and priorities.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Keeping related records.
  • Reviewing inventory reports and work orders to determine types, quantities, and availability of required material and priorities of customer orders,
  • Communicating with customers to determine materials overdue and to inform them of location, availability, and condition of materials.
  • Locating and moving materials to specified production/shipping areas, using motorized cart, forklift, or hand truck, and recording quantity and type of materials distributed and on hand.
  • Expediting the movement of priority items.
  • Communicating with customers regularly to coordinate delivery of priority orders and resolving a variety of supply or inventory related discrepancies with priority requisitions.
  • Following up on overdue material and keeping the work area supervisor informed of material status.
  • Comparing work ticket specifications with material at workstations to verify appropriateness of material in use.
  • Opening crates, boxes, cartons, or bags as necessary and removing material for processing priority orders.
  • Placing material in bins or assigned storage space for processing priority orders.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficient personal computer skills to include a strong working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office suite office products.
  • Able to perform simple internet searches pertaining to the tracking of incoming parts and materials shipments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Have a valid Driver's License.
  • Licensed and capable of operating lifting and material handling equipment to include forklifts, hand carts, and pallet jacks.
  • Ability to lift and carry items that weigh about twenty-three (23) kilograms (fifty (50) pounds) with mechanical lifting devices or assistance from other workers.
  • Ability to frequently lift parts and equipment that weigh up to nine (9) kilograms (twenty (20) pounds).
  • Must possess a current Forklift and Pack Mule license.
  • May be required to possess a valid truck and trailer license.
  • Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in using computers as part of a military or civilian retail / store / warehouse environment.
