Summary

Responsible for performing and recording visual inspection of component level and/or top assembly products.



Job Duties and Responsibilities

Other tasks and duties may be required as directed.



  • Required to perform moderate product inspections with appropriate supporting documentation verifying actual results against drawing and/or specification requirements with little supervision.
  • Execute formal first article reports to AS9102 standards.
  • Verify supplier approval status and certifications against drawing and/or specification requirements for accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify compliance of finished hardware with drawing requirements based on shop practices as they relate to unfinished hardware (e.g., dimensional and visual verification of machined areas, etc.)
  • Ability to understand and conform to internal company procedures.
  • Perform simple mathematic calculations.
  • Ability to effectively inspect product using a broad range of inspection tools, which may include, but are not limited to, micrometers, bore gages, height gages, optical equipment, etc.
  • Use quality-related software and ERP to appropriately record assigned job results based on completed processes.
  • Meet deadlines of assigned jobs while maintaining the integrity of the position.
  • Properly handle and maintain inspection instruments and equipment for use in conducting a variety of product inspections.
  • Review ATP for accuracy and completeness.
  • Obtain customer source delegation, as required.
  • Seek and document lean process improvement ideas.



Qualification Requirements

  • Education/Experience

    • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
    • One to three years related experience or training.


  • Language Skills

    • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.


  • Math Skills

    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume and read decimals down to the millionth of an inch.
    • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


  • Reasoning Skills

    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist.
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Physical Demands

    • Frequent Activities: Standing, sitting, walking, typing, handling objects, reaching, talking/hearing, lifting/pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs.

    • Occasional activities: Lifting/pushing/pulling up to 25 lbs



    • Rare activities: Climbing/balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting/pushing/pulling heavy weights (50-100+ lbs)




  • Vision Requirements


    • Frequent: Close vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, computer work



    • Occasional: Color vision, and focus adjustments


    • Rare: Distance vision, peripheral vision


  • Work Environment


    • Occasional exposure: Mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, and moderate-to-loud noise.



    • Rare exposure: High places, outdoor weather, electrical shock, and vibrations, and very quiet noise levels.

Compensation and Benefits Offered

Actual base salary offered to the selected applicant will be based on their work location, qualifications, job related skills, relevant education, and training experience.

Base hourly rate range Minimum $19.61 - Maximum $23.54 Depending on experience
