Summary

Assembles parts to form complete units or subassemblies using technical drawings, specialized tools and written directions. Reassembles or reworks units as needed



Job Duties and Responsibilities

Other tasks and duties may be required as directed.

* Understand basic hydraulic concepts, the function of gauges, and Crissair assemblies in the hydraulic systems.
* Assemble and test check valves per blueprint and ATP requirements with minimal supervision.
* Maintain accurate parts and part count for each job.
* Perform seat preparations (burnishing, coining, and cleaning) with minimal supervision per the applicable work instruction.
* Install internal components using arbor press and/or proper tooling.
* Report defective parts and rework per supervisor's instructions.
* Be familiar with proper fixtures and tooling required to perform job function.
* Set up test stands with appropriate test fixtures.
* Read pressure gauges and accurately record data to ATP requirements.
* Complete proper buy-off paperwork.
* Set up and operate manual and pneumatic automators and drill press for end fitting swedging and crimp rolls.
* Swedge fitting ends to form 37 and 45 angle or roll.
* Lock-wire and torque-seal parts.
* Follow daily dispatch reports and move jobs into ERP system.
* Seek and document lean process improvement ideas to improve the efficiency of the department.
* Maintain all hand tools in a clean and working condition.
* Notify supervisor of equipment that requires repair.
* Keep work station and test equipment clean and free of unnecessary debris.
* Properly handle and dispose of chemicals used.
* Maintain all safety standards and use safety equipment as required.
* Maintain 100% quality rating and less than .1% rejected components (caused by tech damage).



Qualification Requirements

  • Education/Experience

    • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
    • Three to six months related experience or training.


  • Language Skills

    • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to write in simple correspondence.
    • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.


  • Math Skills

    • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
    • Ability to perform operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.


  • Reasoning Skills

    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
    • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


  • Computer/ Office Skills

    • Basic windows/internet browser
    • ERP/Inventory





Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Physical Demands

    • Frequent Activities: Standing, sitting, walking, typing, handling objects, talking/hearing, lifting/pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs.

    • Occasional activities: Lifting/pushing/pulling up to 25 lbs, stooping, kneeling, crouching



    • Rare activities: Climbing/balancing, lifting/pushing/pulling heavy weights (50-100+ lbs)




  • Vision Requirements


    • Frequent: Close vision



    • Occasional: distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and focus adjustments




  • Work Environment


    • Frequent exposure: Mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, and moderate-to-loud noise.



    • Rare exposure: High places, outdoor weather, electrical shock, and vibrations, and very quiet noise levels.

Compensation and Benefits Offered

Actual base salary offered to the selected applicant will be based on their work location, qualifications, job related skills, relevant education, and training experience.

Base hourly rate range Minimum $17.27 - Maximum $21.00
