What We Do and How We Do It:

The Mail, Shipping & Receiving department within Crown Center / Facilities Services handles the movement of an assortment of items, correspondence and supplies coming in and out of the entire headquarters complex. Many functions are supported by the department including Loading Docks, Courier Service, Fleet Service, Shipping, Package Delivery and Mail Service. All members of the department function as a team, taking pride in providing quality service to their customers.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL

The Mail & Package Delivery Specialist is a full-time position. Working hours are 7:00am - 3:00pm. Duties include all activities necessary to sort, deliver and pick-up all U.S. Postal mail, Private Carrier envelopes and packages (including UPS, FedEx, etc.) and delivery of office supplies throughout the headquarters complex. Provide car service and maintenance duties for all Fleet vehicles. This includes the safe operation of all company vehicles while refueling, washing, vacuuming, and detailing of each vehicle. Schedule and deliver vehicles to local repair shops or dealerships for repairs.



  • Log all incoming Private carrier envelopes and packages as well as all USPS Special Services mail for internal tracking purposes, using a computer and a work iPhone.
  • Use push carts and motorized carts for making deliveries. Items arrive several times throughout the day; they are quickly received and sorted for delivery.
  • Scheduled delivery runs are made to the mail room at least once per day. Incumbent will have regular contact with people at all levels throughout the complex.
  • Safely operate a company vehicle to pick-up mail at the local U.S. Post Office.
  • Pick-up and delivery of mail, packages, supplies and other corporate items around the Hallmark and Crown Center complex and to other local businesses or locations, as required.


  • Assist in other areas of the Mail, Shipping and Receiving department, as needed and perform other duties as assigned.


*Note: The department requires a minimum of 12 months of service in the role before being considered for other positions internally.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The following is required to be considered for this role:



  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Must have a valid state issued driver's license
  • Ability to continually stand, walk, kneel, bend, twist, reach, grasp, push, pull, and frequently lift 60 lbs, occasionally 60-100 lbs
  • Ability to be exposed to the elements (hot, cold, rain & snow) while servicing, driving, loading / unloading the vehicles.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Previous mail service experience
  • Good communication skills - both written & verbal. Will have contact with all levels of employees
  • Good customer service & teamwork skills - must have a great attitude and be a team player
  • Ability to learn quickly and retain information
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel and basic keyboarding skills



ADDITIONAL DETAILS



  • Incumbents must successfully pass test and become licensed to operate Powered Industrial Vehicles used in making deliveries
  • In addition to other pre-employment contingency checks, a driver license check will also be completed. Individuals with three or more driving related violations in a 3-yr. period and those with a record of any driving related violation or offense involving drugs or alcohol within the last five years will not be eligible for this position.
  • If selected, the incumbent will be expected to stay in the position for a minimum of 12 months.
  • This position is located in Kansas City, MO. Relocation will not be provided.
