The Race, Ethnic and Gender Studies (REGS) department in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences offers undergraduate students an interdisciplinary education focused on understanding how race, ethnicity and gender are related to group identities and experiences. Our courses prepare students for dialogues regarding historical and contemporary social dynamics and to identify opportunities for constructive future change. REGS students are enrolled in majors across the university.

Job Description

The Department of Race, Ethnic, and Gender Studies (REGS) at University of Missouri-Kansas City is hiring an adjunct instructor to teach part-time on topics related to Race, Ethnicity, Gender, and Sexuality. The position involves teaching undergraduate students in introductory courses that provide a foundational understanding of ongoing issues in these areas. As an interdisciplinary department, the instructors may come from a variety of scholarly backgrounds.

This is a part time, non-tenure track, non-benefit eligible academic position. The number of hours per week vary depending on the opportunity.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

A Master of Arts or Ph.D. in the humanities or social sciences is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching college/university courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.

The REGS Department also values community service/work experience.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity.
