Technical Writer, Service Cloud

Office hybrid in San Francisco, CA

The Service Cloud Content Experience (CX) Team is looking to add an early-stage professional technical writer to its growing team!

In this role, you'll deliver critical content to help customers set up and adopt Service Cloud products. This includes in-app assistance, online help, API documentation,Trailhead content, and videos. You'll work closely with other writers, engineers, product managers, designers, marketers, and other subject matter experts. You'll track and report on key metrics for your content. Your work will directly help customers achieve their business goals with cutting edge customer service products, including new generative AI features.

You're passionate about communicating complex technical information to non-technical and technical audiences. You're an empathetic and collaborative teammate.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • 1-3 years of professional writing or communications experience

  • 1-3 years of experience working for a technology or software company

  • Ability to write clear, concise, and approachable content and to adapt your voice, tone, and style to the audience

  • Ability to quickly and independently learn and explain complex technologies

  • Curiosity about how things work and figuring out how they could work better

  • Experience using generative AI

  • High standards of quality and attention to detail

  • Excellent problem solver

  • Strong advocate for the customer

  • Ability to create a content strategy for a product

  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple deliverables within tight deadlines

  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills

  • A relevant technical degree required

Desired Experience/Skills:

  • Experience with source control software such as Perforce or Git

  • Experience with XML-based authoring tools such as Oxygen

  • Experience with API documentation

  • Experience with DITA and structured authoring

  • Experience with the Agile development environment

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $88,800 to $122,100. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
