Position Summary

The Business Intelligence Specialist will work within an agile development team providing effective technical solutions through the design, implementation, and testing of BI technologies. The candidate will work closely with business analysts to understand and assist in gathering requirements, create work breakdown structures, and maintain change management using Azure DevOps.

Good communication and presentation skills are required to work with team members and stakeholders while being able to provide demonstrations of dashboards, reports, and other deliverables.

Duties and Accountabilities1


  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain data solutions that integrate across different systems and data sources using BI technologies.
  • Understand and implement data modeling using best practices and star schema design.
  • Analyze complex data from multiple sources including SQL Server databases and Analysis Services Tabular models.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and subject matter experts to gather requirements and provide technical expertise.
  • Distil complex business concepts and data into readily understood information and visualizations for key stakeholders to drive their business performance.
  • Develop relationships with our internal functional groups, to improve the quality and availability of high-value data.
  • Work in collaboration with data and analytics governance members to improve our data structure.
  • Stay up to date on emerging technologies and make recommendations where applicable.

Qualifications






    • 5+ years experience in delivering business intelligence solutions.
    • Bachelor's degree in a technology or engineering field, or equivalent combination of experience.
    • Strong working knowledge of: Microsoft Power BI, Power Query, DAX for querying and calculations, SQL, data modeling, ETL, and best practices in data visualization.
    • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) concepts and agile methodology.
    • Experience with a cloud-based data platform such as MS Fabric, Databricks, or Snowflake.
    • Comfortable working with colleagues at all levels within the firm; strong interpersonal skills.
    • Flexible self-starter comfortable with tackling new projects independently while also being able to take direction from senior staff.
    • Ability to clearly explain both business and technical BI concepts; superior communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to quickly learn new software and technologies.
    • Ability to work independently in a team environment, effectively manage time and tight deadlines; able to multitask.
    • International law firm experience preferred.

    Location & Reporting


    • This is a local role based in Tampa, FL.
    • This role reports to the Sr. Manager.
