Position Summary To evaluate the patient's cardiopulmonary and vascular status, develop an individual exercise treatment plan to facilitate optimal physical and mental reconditioning, and provide patient education and emotional support to facilitate the rehabilitation process. Education Bachelors in physical education/Adult Fitness, Movement Science, or Exercise Science/Sports Medicine required. Master's Degree preferred. Experience At least one year experience as an exercise physiologist in a hospital or other health care facility. Skills Current BCLS required. Movement-based telemetry skills required. Effective group process skills. Effective oral and written communication skills to express ideas clearly. Effective listening skills. Ability to pay attention to details, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to function competently in stressful situations and the changing work environment related to changing patient needs. Ability to work cooperatively with patients, family members, and multidisciplinary team members (i.e. , physicians, Rehab, Respiratory, DI, Lab, etc.). Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations. Ability to use effective analytical and critical thinking skills to problem-solve.
