Position Summary
The University of Illinois Cancer Center is seeking a graduate hourly to support the in-person summer program research for students in high school to medical school levels. The position will work with students by providing presentations on research writing, including one-on-one support related to the student's literature review, writing of a research paper, and poster development. The position will also provide administrative support on the day-to-day activities of the 12-week programming (tentatively from June 2 to August 22, 2025) and report to the Cancer Research Training and Education Coordination (CRTEC) Leadership. The role will require about 20-40 hours per week, providing a flexible schedule between 9 am - 5 pm. Master's and doctoral students in a research-oriented field are welcome to apply. Interested individuals will have experience supporting high school and undergraduate students in research and scientific writing. Knowledge in education or public health research is preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The position will work with students by providing presentations on research writing, including one-on-one support related to the student's literature review, writing of a research paper, and poster development.
  • The position will also provide administrative support on the day-to-day activities of the 12-week programming (tentatively from June 2 to August 22, 2025) and report to the Cancer Research Training and Education Coordination (CRTEC) Leadership.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

    Must be a UIC student
    Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism.
    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    Ability to work autonomously and complete job responsibilities independently.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Interested individuals will have experience supporting high school and undergraduate students in research and scientific writing. Knowledge in education or public health research is preferred.
