Overview
Utah State University Bastian Agricultural Center invites applications for an Operations Team Member Position. Incumbents in the team assist with the day-to-day operations of the USU Bastian Agricultural Center. Job duties may include facilities maintenance, event setup and preparation, arena grooming, equipment operation, stall cleaning and maintenance, building repair, and systems at the Bastian Agricultural Center in South Jordan, Utah. The scope of duties may be highly diversified depending on the needs of events, programs, etc.

Responsibilities
Assists with day-to-day operations of the USU Bastian Agricultural Center.
Assists with event setup, turnover, and preparation
Responsible for landscape operations which may include (mowing, sprinkler systems, leaf removal, weed control, etc.)
Assists with corrective and preventive building maintenance, including basic plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and electrical.
Maintains and repairs facilities, equipment, stalls, corrals, and vehicles.
Perform regular inspections of the facility and preventative maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and facility appearance.
Performs snow removal as assigned.
Complies with department, State, and Federal safety and compliance regulations.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Janitorial Services as needed

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
  • Knowledge of cleaning solutions, chemicals, and solvents.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and plan solutions.
  • Ability to read and understand equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools common to trade.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Customer service skills
  • Familiarity with large animals (horses, cattle, etc.)
  • Knowledge of electricity, carpentry, plumbing, and other technical skills.
  • Ability to withstand odors, dander, etc. presented by exposure to large animals (horses, cattle, etc.)
