  • Support portfolio managers in investment decisions by preparing credit reviews for new investment opportunities that include collateral and structural analysis, scenario testing to identify and evaluate key risks and mitigants, and an assessment of relative value.
  • Perform ongoing surveillance and scenario analysis on existing holdings, ensuring timely identification of material changes in credit performance. Provide proactive updates and recommendations when deterioration or improvement in credit fundamentals is observed.
  • Develop and maintain models for prepayment, credit loss and valuation forecasting.
  • Stay up to date on the market trends, credit developments, and macroeconomic factors impacting the CMBS and RMBS markets.
  • Utilize trading and portfolio management systems to monitor positioning and compliance and recommend trading actions that align with portfolio needs and risk targets, as determined by the portfolio manager.

  • Assist in the effort to continuously improve the depth and scalability of the team's investment process.
  • Other duties as assigned, including assisting with Board investment summaries, quarterly reporting packages, credit ratings change memos, and other ad hoc reporting.

What you will bring:

  • Minimum of 2 years of direct experience analyzing CMBS and/or RMBS securities in a buy-side, sell side or rating agency environment.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and/or residential mortgage credit fundamentals, securitization structures, and bond cash flow modeling.
  • Proficiency with industry tools such as Intex, Bloomberg and CoStar.
  • Advanced Excel skills: experience with Python, SQL, or VBA is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex investment ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, math or a related field; CFA or progress toward designation is a plus.

What will set you apart:

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize macroeconomic and deal-level data into actionable investment insights.
  • Familiarity with surveillance frameworks and experience building or enhancing analytical tools for monitoring large portfolios.
