Maxar has an immediate need for an experienced Project Manager (PM) with strong people, financial and organizational skills and business acumen to join our team at a customer-site in Reston, VA. In this role, you will lead a large and experienced team of professionals in support of a mission with high visibility and high impact efforts.

To be qualified you must be a US Citizen and must have an active TS/SCI. CI Poly highly desired.

Project: In this role as the full-time on-site PM, you will manage a large Task Order (TO) in support of a hard target mission. This technically and contractually complex TO requires a PM with significant experience managing diverse teams of direct employees and subcontractors. You will work on-site with your customer, so great interpersonal and communication skills are a must. You will be responsible for the successful management of various projects while working with customers, subcontractors, government personnel, and corporate support services. A successful candidate works well with a team and communicates professionally to customers, stakeholders, and teammates. A strong mission focus is essential, as our diverse set of customer stakeholders on this project have critical national security mission imperatives.

The team develops and executes on advanced analytic and software engineering efforts. The team is large and broken down into smaller teams, each of which has their own team lead/functional lead. These team leads/functional leads will report to the PM.

Your Responsibilities

  • You will be the main Point of Contact for all things related to the contract execution and performance for Maxar and the customer.

  • You will supervise staff operations and perform personnel management of employees to facilitate their day-to-day duties, as well as support their professional development and career growth.

  • You are responsible for cost, schedule, performance and risk identification/mitigation, to include forecasts, invoices, EACs, and MSRs.

  • You will develop and realize new business opportunities within and external to the task order through targeted and organic growth.

  • You will mentor subordinates and other team members and seek to ensure all team members are realizing professional growth opportunities.

  • You will have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) that will allow to you effectively communicate with all stakeholders with Maxar and the customer

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to pass a CI poly.

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 8 years overall experience in the IC.

  • Minimum 5 years of analytic and/or software engineering experience.

  • Minimum 3 years of Project Management experience in the last 5 years.

  • Significant financial management experience (CLINs, SLINs, individual projects) to include strong Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Very strong communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience managing large and complex cost contracts.

  • 5 years of Project Management experience.

  • Experience managing a team of 40+ FTEs.

  • Business development experience: capture experience, white papers, competitive technical proposals, business proposals, etc.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.

  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification.

  • Certified Product Owner (CSPO) certification.

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.

The base pay for this position within California, Colorado, Hawaii, and the Washington, DC metropolitan area is:

$132,000.00 - $220,000.00

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
