Department: Natural Resources Organizational Unit: Save Our Indian River Lagoon Project Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Full Time Open Until Filled. THIS POSITION IS APPOINTIVE SERVICE $1,942.03 to $2,136.23 biweekly. Actual salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and includes occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Performs entry-level professional work assisting in a variety of tasks on environmentally-related projects and programs for the Save our Indian River Lagoon (SOIRL) Program. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Environmental, a Physical, or a Natural Science related to lagoon and/or shoreline restoration, including Ecology and Wetland Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science, Zoology, Marine Science, Resource Management, Marine Biology, Botany, Geology, Natural Resources, Hydrology and Hydrogeology, Conservation Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Planning, Coastal Zone Management, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field. Experience in grant writing and grant management is preferred. Experience with septic and sewer systems is preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must complete all of the Brevard County Mandatory Training for the Development of New Employees classes within nine (9) months of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
