Summary:

The International Admissions Counselor reports to the Director of International Admissions and will be responsible for supporting the full international enrollment cycle, from recruitment, admission, nurture and retention of international students with special emphasis on first-year applications. Represents the university to prospective students, their families, school guidance counselors, and other educational constituents. Reviews applications, communicate admissions decisions, and track outcomes of admissions offers to meet enrollment goals. The counselor will also be responsible for an assigned portfolio of prospective students to include first year freshman and/or transfer students and may need to travel regionally and internationally. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree with two years of directly related experience.

Experience working in international admissions, recruitment, foreign credential evaluation, or related field.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and abilities



  • Familiarity with international secondary and post-secondary education systems.
  • Understanding of US higher education and liberal arts education.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills to include word processing and database software programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in student information systems such as Slate, Banner, CRM Recruit, SalesForce.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Must be willing and able to travel internationally and domestically.
  • Familiarity with planning international travel.
  • Must maintain a valid passport and driver's license.



Preferred:




  • Working experience in a university admissions setting.
  • Experience living, working and/or studying outside the U.S.
  • Foreign language(s).
  • Familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Marketing and event management experience.
  • Knowledge of Recruit and Salesforce is an advantage.
  • Experience traveling and representing an institution to external constituents (students, parents, schools, CBOs, etc.)



Required Background Checks/Clearances:

Handle Purchasing Cards, Cash, Checks, Credit Cards, or manage financial transactions

Will have access to confidential or sensitive Personal Identifiable Information (PII)

Has direct contact or routine interaction with minors under the age of 18

Driving of a Temple-owned vehicle
