Overview
The Green Mountain Care Board (GMCB) is seeking a Director of Health System Finances to join its innovative and forward-thinking leadership team. This executive-level role is central to advancing the Board's regulatory efforts as Vermont continues to transition toward a value-based care system. The Director will lead a team of skilled finance and data professionals and oversee the Board's regulatory functions related to hospital budgeting, financial reporting, and operational analysis. The role also includes oversight of insurance premium rate reviews and their impact on Vermont's health care system. This position involves a broad scope of financial, regulatory, strategic planning, and administrative responsibilities. The Director serves as a key advisor and may act as the Executive Director's designee in matters related to insurance rate reviews and hospital oversight, compliance, and system improvement initiatives. Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting but some travel will require private means of transportation. Duties may require extensive time outside of normal work hours. The successful candidate will be expected to attend public meetings and hearings and to testify before the Legislature and the Board. The role also requires working individually with five Board members on requests and proposals. A wide diversity of opinion and emotions can be anticipated for which diplomacy and tact will be required. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, statistics, economics, business administration, or related field AND five (5) years or more of experience with accounting, budgeting, fiscal auditing or analysis, or related field that includes experience managing a major fiscal program or operations. Preferred Qualifications
