About the Role

This is a datacentric actuarial student position focused on endtoend renewal rate management for our inforce annuity business. You will own the process-from proposing strategic assumptions to validating rates postdeployment-and continuously improve speed, accuracy and insight through automation and creative problem solving.

What you will do



  • Develop & propose renewal rate assumptions informed by experience studies, market dynamics and strategic objectives.
  • Set renewal crediting rates across multiple product lines, balancing competitiveness, profitability and policyholder value.
  • Implement rates in the policy administration system, partnering with IT to ensure accurate and timely deployment.
  • Validate implemented rates, designing automated controls to confirm accuracy.
  • Continuously streamline the renewal cycle, identifying opportunities to automate data flows, shorten turnaround times and enhance monitoring dashboards.
  • Maintain & enhance analytical tools-Excel workbooks, SQL databases, Power BI Dashboard and dbt models-to support rate setting and implementation.
  • Prepare and present clear insights and recommendations to actuarial, finance and executive leadership.
  • Collaborate crossfunctionally with Product Development, IT and Finance to align renewal strategy and implementation with company goals.

Compensation

Salary Range:$93,900 - $156,600plus eligibility for annual bonus programs

Who you are



  • Bachelor's degree
  • ASA
  • 4+ years of actuarial experience in life or annuity pricing, valuation or inforce management (renewal/crediting rate experience ideal).
  • Ownership mentality. Able to lead processes from concept through execution with minimal direction.
  • Creative problem solver who thrives in noncookiecutter environments.
  • Intermediate to advanced SQL skills
  • Familiarity with dbt is a strong plus.
  • Working knowledge of Python for data analysis or automation is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complex actuarial concepts into actionable insights for both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • High school diploma required.
