Job Summary

The Data Analyst II for the Office of Analysis and Information Management (AIM) works closely with Human Resources to collect, analyze, and report on employee data using various software and database systems. This role supports compliance monitoring and reporting related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws, regulations, audits, and university policies and procedures

  • Provides support in the efficient cross-departmental collection, analysis, and reporting of HR metrics to support compliance monitoring, trend analysis, and strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with institutional stakeholders and assist in preparing, including IPEDS and AAUP reporting, as well as metrics required by federal and state compliance agencies.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity in large workforce-related datasets by analyzing trends and correlations of various job groups and data.
  • Develop comprehensive reports, visualizations, and presentations to effectively communicate data-driven insights to University administration, colleagues, and/or stakeholders.
  • Measure the impact and effectiveness of colleges and business unit's programming, training, and initiatives within the University to support continued expansion and institutional goals.
  • Supports the development, implementation, analysis, and dissemination of University Surveys to meet federal compliance benchmarks.
  • Supports faculty and staff in developing strategies that align with University goals while addressing unique issues/needs of each college or business unit.
  • Provides support in the supervision of student-level department staff, ensuring high-quality data collection and reporting.
  • Monitors and shares insights on people analytics and federal compliance topics, such as trends, datasets, and reports to enhance regulatory adherence.
  • Performs other related duties as required or directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two (2) years of appropriate experience or a Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization.

Departmental Requirements

Research, evaluation, and data collection and analysis using statistical analytic tools (e.g., SPSS, SAS, Queries, etc.).

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g., XLOOKUP, pivot tables, data cleaning, and functions).
  • Experience in Tableau for building dashboards and data visualizations.
  • Strong understanding of data-wrangling techniques and experience working with large datasets.
  • Familiarity with compliance reporting and institutional research in a higher education setting (preferred).
  • Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences effectively.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • The ideal candidate is proficient in data wrangling, advanced Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, XLOOKUP), and Tableau for data visualization. The incumbent will have strong communication and problem-solving skills that are essential to translate HR metrics into actionable insights for institutional improvement.
