GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Structural Operations Manager position has primary accountability for the Hillsboro Structural facility. Supports the production leads and supervisor's in their day-to-day operational leadership, with an emphasis on continuous improvements in productivity, safety, Efficiency and product quality. Other benefits include Health and Family Care leave for both union and non-union employees. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the production schedule.
- Assists in the monitoring of the plant efficiencies and the allocation of projects for both manufacturing and steel fabrication.
- Streamline operations across plant with an eye towards cost reduction, improved asset utilization and reduced overtime. Key tools in this effort include Kanban and other TQM/lean initiatives. Document streamlining and standardization.
- Identify required skills and certifications necessary for each position and work with plant supervision to ensure employees successfully attain the certifications.
- Assist in the development and standardization of production processes and procedures.
- Identifies, develops, and implements quality initiatives and solutions that improve results and helps create action plans to facilitate the change management process. .
- Partner with Engineering, QC and other departments to drive standardization of product components.
- Complete special projects as requested and performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related degree preferred
- 5 - 7 years of Operations or Production Management preferred.
- Must have interpersonal communication skills to interact with co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
- Ability to train and coach other employees if necessary.
- Must be able to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
- Must be able to lead a team with respect and dignity.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work with others to get the project completed efficiently.
- Must be motivated and self-driven to complete a task.
- Understand and accepts changes that are implemented to become best in Class.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for typing, filing, and using office equipment.
- Visual acuity and ability to read small print.
- Hearing acuity and ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to lift and move office supplies and equipment.
- Mobility and ability to move around the office as needed.
