Intern - Corporate Communications

Briggs & Stratton is seeking a dynamic and motivated Communications Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate is an energetic individual with a strong interest in communications, and eager to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. As a Communications Intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to various communications initiatives, develop essential skills, and learn from experienced professionals in the field. #LI-MD1 #LI-DNP

This position will primarily support external communications, enhancing our efforts by focusing on media outreach, social media, and community engagement. Work will also be completed in event support, including assisting with activating Briggs & Stratton's Summerfest stage. The position will start immediately and run through the summer.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university studying toward a Bachelors/Associates degree in specified function (Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field)
  • Must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency with shooting/editing videos and photos on smartphone

Additional Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including drafting emails, press releases, and presentations
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, primarily LinkedIn
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to various communications projects
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
