Position Summary:
The Commercial Loan Closing Specialist, coordinates the daily administrative function of the Business Services department. In this role, the Commercial Loan Closing Specialist is responsible for loan documentation, administration of loan files, procuring third party work, and conducting pre-close quality control for all business loans including but not limited to commercial real estate, commercial & industrial, lines of credit, and government guaranteed loans. The Commercial Loan Closing Specialist shall also be responsible for business member services, escalated issues and correspondence. Additional responsibilities may include attending community events as a representative of the business service team supporting the department's lending officer and department head.
Responsibilities:
- Workflow Management (Oversees the workflow of business loan processing to ensure compliance requirements are being met):
- Performs loan document drafting and review.
- Due diligence with all third-party professionals: appraisals , environmental reports, title company, and Attorney's.
- Facilitate Greeting Meetings with Loan Officer
- Review of loan documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to closing
- Ensure all loans are documented thoroughly as required by approval conditions.
- Ensures loan file documents are stacked in proper order.
- Order Title Work for Commercial Mortgages:
- Perform Title search (if applicable).
- Review Title Search.
- Order Title Commitment.
- Send Fees to Title Company.
- Make sure fees and costs are allocated.
- Verify wires, while following all applicable policies.
- Document Prep:
- Make sure all loans are closed per policy, SBA authorization and credit approval.
- Verify stipulations met.
- Verify commitment letter received.
- Enter closing date.
- Call and verify wire instructions.
- Review fees.
- Create LaserPro documentation.
- Check for duplicate Members.
- Review/Send closing documents to Loan Officer
- Review and sign off on documents.
- Update opportunity to "Closing."
- Quality Control:
- Ensure the Pre- Closing Quality Control was filed.
- Ensuring loans are documented and booked according to the credit approval.
- Ensure credit approvals and closings conform to the credit union's policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent Required
- Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Finance or Accounting Preferred
- 1-3 years Commercial Loan Processing Required
- 1-3 years Commercial Post Closing experience Required
- 1-3 years Experience with Sageworks / Abrigo Commercial Loan System Preferred
- Knowledge of SBA Standard Operations Procedures Knowledge SBA Loan Policy and Products (Low proficiency)
- Ability to read and understand bank, financial statement and tax return documents (Medium proficiency)
- Decision making skills (Medium proficiency)
