Summary: We are seeking an entry-level Statistician I to support data-driven initiatives by applying foundational statistical methods and techniques. This role involves collecting, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting numerical data to generate meaningful insights and support decision-making processes. The Statistician I will work under the guidance of senior statisticians or analysts and may assist across various projects, including economic, demographic, and program performance analyses.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
Assist in the development and application of statistical methods to analyze data and solve problems.
- Support the design and execution of data collection and analysis plans under the direction of senior staff.
- Organize, clean, and summarize datasets using standard statistical software and tools.
- Contribute to reports, presentations, and documentation that communicate statistical findings clearly.
- Assist in validating data sources and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of statistical outputs.
- Perform basic modeling and forecasting to support research and operational needs.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to understand project requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Stay current with basic statistical techniques and best practices.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of statistical software.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow analytical and quality control procedures.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years direct experience with finance for an HQ level military entity.
- Experience working for or supporting the National Guard Bureau.
- At a minimum, a favorably adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) or an equivalent or higher investigation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or coursework in applied statistics, econometrics, or research methods.
- Internship or project experience involving statistical modeling or data analysis.
