Urban Education Research Center (UERC) in the School of Education, Social Work, and Psychological Sciences (SESWPS) at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC)

Job Description

The Urban Education Research Center (UERC) at the University of Missouri-Kansas City works with the community to address pressing educational challenges. Through collaboration with education professionals and community leaders, we provide insights about the root causes of these challenges and identify possible solutions.

The Program & Project Support Coordinator II is responsible for coordinating logistics, budgets, finances, and supporting community research operations with reporting, data preparation and presentation, and data analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting. Work with center staff and university departments to prepare and submit budgets for grants, contracts and gifts. Assemble necessary information about salaries, benefits, indirect cost rates to facilitate budget preparation. Advise center staff about best practices.
  • Financial management and accounting. Work with center staff and university departments to direct payments and expenses to correct accounts. Compile financial data from university financial systems. Organize and manage center's financial data.
  • Billing. Prepare invoices based on contract and grant agreements. Communicate with clients about missing, late payments. Communicate with university departments about miss-classified and misdirected payments.
  • Financial reporting. Assemble budget and expenditure data into a range of reports for UERC Administrative and Project Management Teams. Assemble ad hoc financial reports for other campus entities including SESWPS Dean.
  • Research assistance. Assist with the preparation and analysis of research and evaluation data. Assist with research and evaluation report preparation. Prepare and facilitate the finalization of data agreements with school districts and other UERC partners.
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in relevant areas including finance, financial management, accounting, data preparation & reporting
  • Demonstrated experience in support roles in education and research environments
  • Demonstrated experience working with community partners
  • Demonstrated experience working with data transfer useage agreements and related MOUs
Anticipated Hiring Range

Anticipated starting salary range start at $25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
