Department of Neurosurgery - Research Intern

The University of Iowa Department of Neurosurgery is seeking aResearch Intern. This position will include multiple roles of a pre-clinical basic science researcher.

The Research Intern is expected to learn new and hone existing experimental and laboratory skills and to gain knowledge on the neural mechanisms in the brain. Duties include data collection, data analysis, and other research-related tasks as assigned.

Please note: This position is for a limited duration. Anticipated length of 12-months from hire. An extension of an additional 12 months possible but not guaranteed. At the end of the second year of employment or enrollment into graduate school, the appointment will terminate.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree

Desired Qualifications

• Degreein health sciences or life sciences
• Previous research experience, especially clinical research
• Flexibility in schedule to work the occasional early morning, evening, or weekend shift, or to travel to study-related meetings/conferences
  
  

Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any conviction history and will be subject to a criminal background check and credential/education verification.
