This Software Test Technician is a technical, hands-on position working with a cross-functional group of software, firmware, and electrical engineers. The Software Test Engineer will interact with software and firmware in a manual capacity in order to stress test these systems, record any failures, and document the steps used to produce the failures.

General Responsibilities:

  • Interact with application software following a written procedure and document the results.

  • Interact with application software in an ad-hoc manner to elicit poor behavior while providing details on what happened, how it happened, and why you think it is poor behavior.

  • Collaborate with software, firmware, and electrical engineers to gain understanding of various applications.

  • Write technical reports and accurately convey issues and information

  • Analyze debug logs and include relevant portions of logs in written reports explaining poor behavior.

  • Participate in team meetings and provide feedback on product quality and usability

  • Continuously learn and apply new testing techniques and tools

Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in report writing

  • Experience with reports in a highly regulated industry is desirable

  • Experience with Mobile Applications

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team

  • Experience with the Microsoft Suite

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills

  • 2+ years of experience in C, C++, or C# is highly desirable.

Education:

Associate's degree or 3 years of equivalent experience

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel may be required

Pay Transparency: A reasonable estimate of the annual base salary for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 + discretionary annual bonus. Pay ranges may vary by location.
