Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking a Legal Practice Coordinator in our Labor & Employment Practice Group. Reporting to the Senior Practice Support Manager, this position will reside in the Philadelphia office and will be responsible for providing a broad range of administrative and substantive legal support in an environment where superior client service is emphasized. This position is designed to provide an opportunity to develop client relationships, build strategic incentives/initiatives with legal, and analyze data metrics, routinely engage with Labor & Employment Practice Group attorneys and legal professionals and gain significant analytical and project management skills.

A hybrid in-office/remote working schedule is available for this position.

Key responsibilities of this position:

  • Conceptualize and drive the creation of a robust internal training initiative to improve attorney engagement and understanding of client needs and preferences.

  • Develop and maintain a financial tracking and forecasting platform for this retainer-based client to improve financial efficiencies in accordance with the negotiated fixed fee.

  • Assists the Client Relations/Business Development Teams with organizing, planning, and preparing client-specific CLE programs.

  • Continuously improve upon existing project management methodology.

  • Establishes, organizes and maintains case and client files.

  • Manages case and client information manually and digitally, using electronic databases.

  • Coordinates the gathering of information, materials, documents, reports, and evidence necessary to respond to discovery.

  • Assists with the compilation, drafting, proofreading, editing, and gathering of factual support for briefs and dispositive motions.

  • Supports the development and management of case and practice group timelines.

  • Participates in the research and analysis for matters.

  • Coordinates communication and planning across attorney teams who are handling multiple client matters.

  • Distributes draft documents to attorneys and clients.

  • Provides administrative support when needed, including, but not limited to, conflicts check for new matters, business intake materials and expense forms/paperwork.

  • Interfaces with clients and may serve as the initial point of contact for clients.

  • Drafts and assists in the preparation of meeting minutes.

  • Coordinates and participates in day-to-day client management.

  • Participates in supervised client communications to exchange information.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least two (2) years of administrative support experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Previous law firm experience required.

  • Experience with supporting a Litigation practice, including court rules and filing procedures.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Portable Document Format (PDF) software.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work autonomously while also functioning effectively in a team environment.

  • Exhibits strategic thinking and initiative in handling assignments and projects.

  • Works productively and effectively with all personnel as part of a client service team.

  • Flexibility to work overtime require.
