Overview
Responsible for operational performance in a medical office practice that consists of; eight (8) or more full-time providers, and/or multiple clinic sites, with budgeted revenues of $3 million or above, that offers a complex scope of services. Monitors the activities of all office operating components to ensure the practice meets its objectives. Advises and seeks consent from Executive Director of the Children's Hospital Physicians to coordinate and manage the activities of the clinic.

Responsibilities
- Supervises and coordinates the activities of all personnel.
- Monitors duties assigned to office personnel to ensure the employees are performing their duties in a manner designed to maintain a high level of patient care.
- Standardizes procedures and initiates changes where necessary. Constantly reviews procedures to determine if there is a more efficient and less costly way to conduct the business without sacrificing quality patient care.
- Directs operations to prepare and retain records, files, and reports according to various governmental and practice standards.
- Interviews, tests, hires, and terminates employees, and verifies information on employment application forms. Arranges for background checks on applicants for employment. Conducts periodic performance and salary reviews.
- Reviews weekly time records of all office personnel. Approves all sick and emergency leave in accordance with office policy.
- Creates and administers an on-the-job training program for new employees as required.
- Schedules and conducts periodic staff meetings with the employees to inform the staff of changes in the office policy and to resolve problems that are affecting operating effectiveness; prepares and retains minutes of such meetings.
- Attends physician meetings as directed.
- Prepares financial and statistical reports for efficient management of clinic operations. Works with administration and corporate accounting personnel as necessary.
- Reviews all invoices and statements received from vendors for payment
- Prepares annual clinic budget, utilizing historical data and projected production data. Continually strives to operate clinic within or above budgeted targets.
- Acts as a liaison between physicians/providers and the Practice Management Committee (PMC) to achieve effective communication and optimal operational processes.
- Responsible for operation of all ancillary and diagnostic services provided at clinic, i.e., laboratory and ensures that these services are being delivered within guidelines established by appropriate regulatory agencies.
- Attends and participates in management meetings, committees, work groups, and task forces, as requested.
- This position may be assigned a specific mission to address in an emergency situation to assist in disaster response and recovery as part of the UPH-DM Hospital Emergency Incident Command System.
- Situations of a critical nature may require an individual to perform multiple tasks until additional support can be obtained.
- Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as determined by the Executive Director.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: - Bachelor Degree or four years experience in a related field required. - RN/BSN required. - BAA or BHA preferred. EXPERIENCE: - Four years of related healthcare experience; women's health experience preferred. - Experience in accounts receivable, to include billing collection, ICD-9 and CPT coding. - Experience in personnel management, facility management, financial management, budgeting, computers preferred. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: - Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa. - Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three months from date of hire. - Certification in Healthcare management preferred. - Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
