PRIMARY PURPOSE Assists in planning, designing and managing projects and programs related to Interior Design and Furniture, Fixtures, & Equipment for Parkland to ensure Planning, Design & Construction project activities meet Parklands mission and goals, applicable laws and the needs of the users. MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS Education:
- Must have a bachelor's degree in architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, or a related field.
Experience:
- Must have five (5) years of project management experience in a contractor environment that included elements of Furniture, Fixtures, & Equipment.
- Prefer two (2) years of large acute care hospital project management experience.
Equivalent Education and/or Experience:
- May have an equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above.
Certification/Registration/Licensure:
- Prefer LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
- Prefer State of Texas Licensure in related field.
- Prefer current registration as an Architect or Engineer in a State or U.S. Territory with Texas reciprocity, or prefer that applicant be qualified for the examination.
Skills or Special Abilities:
- Must have the ability to read architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Must have the ability to plan and budget for projects at all stages of development.
- Must have proficiency in industry-accepted methods, tools and conventions of project management.
- Must have knowledge of code and regulatory aspects of design, construction and furnishings, fixtures, and equipment.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills.
- Must have good organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills.
- Must have the ability to manage program elements dealing with standardization of Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment and interior design concepts.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing program/project management expertise in conceptual planning, programming and budgeting of assigned projects by senior management, the project Director and to Parkland executive management.
- Develops project budget, schedule, quality and safety goals. Ensures projects are executed to meet or exceed goals.
- Develops information for program reviews and participates in review process. Proactively resolves issues and informs Parkland management of issues that require further action.
- Assists in the selection and management of consultants, contractors and vendors to meet project goals. Negotiates change orders and recommends approval to management. Approves vendor payments.
- Prepares invitations for bid, requests for proposal and negotiates contracts for projects and services.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with management, vendors, contractors, architects, outside organizations, and Parkland staff to ensure that communication is maintained and cultivated.
- Works with team and groups to coordinates and establish standardization across Parkland for Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment and Interior Design models.
