Overview Information Technology is seeking a dynamic individual to join the DCX (Digital Customer Experience) Technology Solutions team of Business Systems Delivery.The DCX program is a continuously advancing strategic initiative focused on improving the customer experience across Con Edison's digital channelsincluding web and mobilefor both CECONY and O&R. Building on several years of successfully implemented capabilities, the program focuses on ongoing improvements in governance, business processes, and technology. Key technology solutions already in place include a web content management system, identity & access management, preference management, live chat, and surveys. Backend system integration is achieved through web services, with many components hosted in the cloud.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- The System Specialist is responsible for leading system development and vendor implementation efforts, from project initiation through post implementation support. This role will initiate the efforts, lead internal IT and cross-functional teams as required, engage vendors and company stakeholders, and monitor and control all project activity throughout the project life-cycle.
- This individual may have management responsibility over several IT employees and contractors. This individual will act as the liaison between product owners, scrum masters, architects, development team members, trainers, testers, and analysts to build and maintain enterprise-level software solutions. This individual will also be responsible for working on all aspects of new applications development as well as vendor systems implementations: Planning, Requirements Gathering, Business Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Quality Assurance, Training, Implementation, and on-ongoing Technical Support.
- This individual will work on the on-going enhancement and technical support of the existing IT application portfolio in Business Systems Delivery. This individual will also work on day-to-day IT administrative tasks, problem solving, and issues resolution.
- Project Role: Own the product backlog for backend integration components supporting Con Edisons digital platforms, prioritizing features, enhancements, and bug fixes to maximize value delivery. Drive continuous backlog refinement and sprint planning activities within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), ensuring readiness of work for upcoming Program Increment (PI) cycles. Collaborate closely with cross-functional Agile teams, including developers, architects, QA, and external vendors, to define clear user stories and acceptance criteria for API development and integration work.
- Portfolio Scope: Lead analyst for one or more technology products, subsystems of major enterprise applications or medium sized department portfolios.. Define and communicate the vision and roadmap for backend integration services, balancing technical feasibility with customer and business needs. Manages and prioritizes customer requests (demand management). Analyzes business requirements and presents solution options to business needs. Provides expertise and delivers value beyond immediate initiative goals.
- Deliverables: Design documents, develop project plans for medium complexity projects, and develop business case including value analysis. Develop applications. Delivers complex data integration solutions utilizing both proprietary technologies and third-party APIs. Champion best practices in API design, security, scalability, and maintainability to support a robust and flexible digital customer experience. Conducts quality control, performing or overseeing the performance of full system and data integrity testing with technology platforms. Ensure compliance with Con Edisons IT governance, security standards, and enterprise architecture guidelines throughout the product lifecycle.
- Business Relationships and Management: Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party vendors to ensure alignment on requirements, timelines, and delivery expectations.Coaches and influences business managers in technology decisions. Facilitate dependency identification and resolution across multiple vendors and teams to mitigate risks and unblock delivery. Understands and anticipates the needs and requirements of business partners. Prepares and conducts regular status updates on moderate sized projects. Provides direction to and communicates with developers on best practices as it pertains to integration standards, security, and performance with internal systems.
- Vendor Management: Effectively develop, manage, and strengthen vendor relationships to align vendor products and services with business and IT objectives. Onboards vendors and helps to address/remediate any vendor security concerns identified.
- People Leadership: Potential to manage employees and contractors. Provides regular development feedback. Lead IT team and work with cross-functional teams to achieve all project goals. Coach and technically train new team members.
- Operations: Manages incidents including timely and relevant communication. Triage problems, remediate, analyze root cause, and implement incident prevention using techniques such as Human Performance Improvement. Participate in solution demos, inspect and adapt sessions, and retrospectives to continuously improve team performance and product quality
- Performance Improvement: Leads significant portion of IT process improvement teams. Ability to analyze, discover, and recommend opportunities for systems or process improvements.
- Communications and Change Management: Communicates effectively across multiple stakeholder groups to influence project outcomes and steer towards enterprise goals. Monitor product delivery progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders.. Partners on delivering successes and managing challenges early. Solicits and implements feedback. Manages change proactively.

Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Math, Business, or applicable degree and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Math, Business, or applicable degree and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
- Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Math, Business, or applicable degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
- High School Diploma/GED Technical Certification in IT Technologies and a minimum of 7 years relevant experience.

- Proven experience with API development and integration, including designing, testing, and managing web services to support scalable digital platforms, required.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub, preferred.
- Formal training in Project Management/Business Analysis, preferred.
- Experience implementing packaged software, preferred.
