**Overview**
Founded in 1971, Dialysis Clinic, Inc. (DCI) remains the nation's largest non-profit dialysis provider. With a team of approximately 5,000 talented and caring employees serving across the United States, DCI provides care to nearly 15,000 patients on dialysis and 3,500 patients with chronic kidney disease. We offer a variety of services including in-center hemodialysis, home hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis (PD). Each position within DCI, from billers to administrators to nursing staff, contributes toward the goal of providing excellent patient care. Our staff has helped DCI achieve the lowest mortality and hospitalization rates among large dialysis providers for the past 13 years in a row. **The Corporate Counsel** will provide guidance to the company's executives, as well as operations, regulatory and clinical personnel throughout the country. **Responsibilities** The following is a summary of what makes our team successful. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. **Primary Responsibilities:** + Advise DCIDS leadership and the DCIDS Board of Directors, and report to them as needed in legal-related matters + Advise and provide oversight on compliance-related matters at the federal, state and accreditation/certification organization levels to ensure DCIDS remains aligned with various requirements and expectations + Handle contracts and other legal documents + Research and guidance on complex regulatory issues + Handle transactional projects + Interact with a wide range of legal and business persons All in furtherance of DCIDS's mission goals **Competencies:** Leadership skills/expectations include: + Inspires trust and respect + Collegial, possesses mature interpersonal skills and is able to quickly adapt to changing demands + Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness + Demonstrates initiative; demonstrates flexibility and reliability + Thrives in a team environment while able to work independently when necessary + Produces authoritative, comprehensive legal results. + Microsoft office proficient Compliance with DCIDS/DCI programs: Corporate Counsel will be accountable for adhering to the DCIDS and DCI Standards of Conduct. All employees are required to promptly report all known or suspected compliance-related violation or concerns. **Qualifications** **Education and/or Experience:** + Licensed attorney holding a J.D. or equivalent degree from a recognized law school + Tennessee licensure highly preferred, but other exceptional candidates holding out-of-state license considered upon condition of obtaining Tennessee licensure + 3+ years of transactional legal experience, preferably in healthcare law + Experience in health care law as well as general corporate and business law is highly preferred + Experience in compliance programs and expectations thereof in a healthcare environment is adventageous + Microsoft office proficient DCI is a federal contractor and an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer-Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities.
