Responsibilities

What You'll Do

The Program Manager, Member Outreach will play an integral role in developing, promoting and implementing SAG-AFTRA Los Angeles Local programs to support Los Angeles Local members. This position will engage with the Communications & Marketing Department on any communications, marketing, or other public-facing messaging about LA Local programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Working with the national communications and marketing team, develop and implement programs, initiatives, and supporting communications for the LA Local, ensuring timely and relevant messaging for the target audience.
  • Serve as the staff liaison/ co-liaison to the Los Angeles Local Communications and other local committees as assigned.
  • Working with relevant national communications staff, this position will assist in the creation, production, and dissemination of regular Los Angeles Local communications, including email blasts, website, newsletters (print and/or digital), and social media.
  • Draft editorial content and provide photography and releases for all LA Local content.
  • Create printed assets for LA Local events, as needed. Responsible for ensuring that all LA Local materials - editorial and photographic - are properly archived.
  • Working with the member-discounts team in the Communications & Marketing department, negotiate appropriate and acceptable vendor and service discounts for Los Angeles area members. Provide regular reviews and updates of discounts on the website.
  • Work with the communications and marketing staff in updating the SAG-AFTRA national headquarters member lobby, including updating lobby audio-visual displays, member boards, and literature.
  • Work with industry partners to promote programs that benefit LA Local members.
  • Collaborate across the organization to support Los Angeles Local programs, meetings and events as required.
  • Act as a resource in resolving member issues by utilizing excellent SAG-AFTRA process knowledge and strong skills in problem-solving.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Demonstrated writing skills; knowledge of AP style.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms.
  • Proficiency with graphics software (ex: Adobe, Canva, Publisher)

PREFERRED BACKGROUND:

  • Individuals with project management experience will be given preference.
  • Proficiency with online content management systems preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the entertainment industry and/or with unions preferred.
  • Previous experience in a marketing and communications role is preferred.
