Who we are looking for:

ASCO is in search of a highly motivated and enthusiastic Program Associate to join our Professional Development Department. In this integral role, you will provide administrative support and programmatic assistance for the planning, development, and implementation of ASCO's professional development activities, aligning with the Society's Strategic Plan and departmental goals.

The position is hybrid with a primary location in Alexandria, VA. We anticipate the hire to be onsite approximately 2-3 days per week.

This position is funded through collaborators that have committed to support programs. Continuation of this position therefore is contingent upon funding being available.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of ASCO's professional development member programs by providing logistical and administrative support to recruitment, application development and maintenance, the review and selection processes, and the participant experience.
  • Working across functional units, assist various team members in preparing and collating meeting materials and providing administrative support for of ASCO's leadership development programs, including supporting live meeting logistics such as travel and hotel confirmations, calendar appointments and catering requests.
  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers, to include ASCO Members, program participants, mentors, and volunteers regarding program applications and meeting logistics, as well as other general professional development inquiries.
  • Support the planning, development, and execution of live and virtual activities for professional development program participants and graduates by disseminating communications, executing email mail merges, scheduling calls and virtual sessions, producing summary documents, and preparing and collating all program related materials.
  • Provide programmatic support to the planning and execution of professional development initiatives at the ASCO Annual Meeting as well as virtual networking and topical mentoring activities.
  • Monitor and collate data to communicate program outcomes, trends, gaps, and metrics.
  • Ability to work occasional early mornings to support in-person session logistics.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
  • 1 year of administrative support experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and an openness to embracing and learning new technology

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience supporting the planning and development of agendas, events, materials, and expenses
  • Project support experience

ADA/Physical Requirements

Extended periods seated or standing at a desk.

High use of computer and other office technology equipment.

Travel

5-10 days/yr
