Responsibilities

REPORTS TO:

Director of Plant Operations

SUMMARY STATEMENT & PURPOSE

Under general direction, Environmental Services Workers routinely clean patient rooms, nursing units, clinical areas, offices, lounges, lobbies, waiting areas, and restrooms.

All employees are expected to be pleasant, respectful, and courteous in all interactions with patients, families, staff, and visitors of the Hospital, as well as being a positive representative of INBH at all times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least one (1) year working in a commercial housekeeping position.
  • Must have Proof of High School Diploma or GED

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience working in a healthcare environment.

EMPLOYEE RATES AND BENEFIT

  • In addition to base hourly rate, employees receive shift differentials ranging from $1.00 to $3.50 per hour

Qualifications

SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

All functions are essential functions unless otherwise noted.

The job functions of this position are not limited to the duties listed below.

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks of patient's rooms, offices and public areas.
    1. Ensure adequate linens are kept in facility.
    2. Clean areas with disinfectants.
    3. Refill supplies (paper products, soap, etc.)
    4. Vacuum, dust, mop, sweep and take out trash.
    5. Dispose of infectious/contaminated waste from the facility.
  • Comply with established measures for infection control, OSHA regulations, and Safety/Risk Management Plans, policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for taking necessary safety precautions when handling power floor care equipment
  • Take appropriate precautions ensuring proper tag out and lock out procedures when working on equipment.
  • Assist in assuring a safe and risk preventive environment.
  • Adhere to facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures.
  • Attend all mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities as scheduled.
  • Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality.
  • Support facility-wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives.
  • Maintains confidentiality of facility employees and patient information.
