Overview

The Clinical Operations Nurse Manager at Carle Eureka Hospital serves as the leader for Surgical Services, Inpatient Nursing Services, Respiratory Therapy, Cardiac Diagnostics, Cardiopulmonary Rehab and Specialty Outpatient Clinics.
Management responsibilities for Surgical Services Department includes Peri Anesthesia, Operating Room, Post-Anesthesia Recovery, Same Day Surgery, Sterile Processing and Outpatient Infusion. Collaborates with medical and anesthesia staff in planning daily surgical schedule. Assesses the surgical schedule to ensure adequate staffing for planned procedures. Responsible for day-to-day operations of the all the departments. Ensures staff are following all surgical services policies.
Management responsibilities for Inpatient Nursing include providing supervision for care provided for Medical/Surgical and Swing Bed patients. Functions as a role model in nursing, demonstrating competency in clinical judgment, select technical skills, and appropriate knowledge base. Provides clinical direction to staff and evaluates the level of care provided by the unit nursing staff. Assures nursing workload is measured and resources are allocated based on patient need.
Management responsibilities for Respiratory Therapy evaluates and monitors staff performance to ensure that optimal respiratory therapy is being provided consistent with Department policies and procedures. Oversees scheduling of staff, monitors equipment and supply needs and serves as a resource person to staff, ancillary department personnel, bedside nurses and physicians.
Management responsibilities for Cardiac Diagnostics includes leadership of CV Techs and Echo Techs across the assigned areas of the Department. Works with specialists to ensure expectations for diagnostics are being met.
Management responsibilities for Cardiopulmonary rehab includes leadership of Nurses, Exercise Physiologists and Respiratory Therapists responsible for navigating Cardiac Rehab patients through the different phases of the Cardiac Rehab program. Partners with physician leaders to ensure patient eligibility and care provided throughout the program meets quality requirements.
Management responsibilities for Specialty Outpatient Clinics include providing guidance for Cardiology, Pulmonology, General Surgery, Orthopedic, Pain and Podiatry specialties. Coordinates the duties of the clinical nursing team. Functions as the liason with physicians, advance practice clinicians, administration and other team members to ensure quality care is provided.
Qualifications

Certifications: Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA), Education: Bachelor's Degree: Nursing (Required), Work Experience:
Responsibilities

Develops, implements, and monitors the operating and capital budgets; provides for personnel, supplies, equipment, and evaluates their effectiveness.
Responsible for departments compliance with regulatory standards, such as DNV and State Licensure requirements.
Serves as resource/consultant for all direct report personnel as well as other departments and agencies throughout departments.
Supervises the collection of all required records and reports (records, monthly statistics, patient charges, incident reports, personnel/payroll records, Performance Improvement, etc.).
Performs introductory, annual and on-going performance appraisals for unit employees based on job description and performance standards. Ensures appropriate orientation, education, credentialing, and continuing professional development of personnel.
Evaluates staffing needs, and appropriate patient care assignment. Participates in recruitment, selection, and retention of personnel, including staff representation of the population diversity. Directs and manages personnel in assigned areas.
Functions as a role model in nursing, demonstrating competency in clinical judgment, select technical skills and appropriate knowledge base. Demonstrates clinical expertise in the execution of the nursing process and directs and assists staff in its application and evaluates level of care provided by the staff in all departments. Applies leadership to non-nursing staff in same manner.
Ensures patient rounds are completed on a daily basis. Monitors patient satisfaction scores and develops and implements plans to correct scores as needed. Responds to action lines in a timely manner.
Responsible for the continual monitoring and follow up of scores related to the Carle Experience.
Ensures departments are prepared for surveys. Continually assessing survey readiness. Responsible for day-to-day operations of all assigned departments. Ensure staff follow all appropriate policies and procedures.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $46.63per hour - $80.2per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
