About the Role

As a Maintenance Operations Technician, you'll be a vital part of our team, helping to ensure our assets remain reliable, safe, and fully functional. In this role, you'll apply our maintenance management practices to carry out assigned tasks efficiently and effectively. Your contributions will directly support the long-term performance of our operations and help create a workplace where safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement are valued by all.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.
• Identify and report equipment defects, and contribute to root cause analysis and defect elimination initiatives.
• Provide accurate and timely feedback on asset performance using the asset management system.
• Support continuous improvement efforts through work management analysis and participation in asset tactic reviews.
• Follow detailed work order and job instructions to ensure safe and effective task execution.
• Conduct post-maintenance activities, including equipment commissioning, functional checks, and clean-up.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance asset performance and support operational goals.

Minimum Qualifications

• Operational Maintenance: Proficient in maintaining operating assets and systems.
• Asset Management: Skilled in identifying defects and providing feedback on asset performance.
• Problem-Solving: Able to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Analytical Skills: Capable of contributing to maintenance analysis and optimizing processes.
• Communication: Effective in conveying maintenance-related information to stakeholders.
• Teamwork: Collaborates effectively to support maintenance activities.
• Safety Awareness: Prioritizes safety in all maintenance tasks.
• Attention to Detail: Ensures thorough post-maintenance procedures.
• Adaptability: Flexible in responding to changing maintenance needs.
• Valid Driver's License

Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah. We produce copper, precious metals including gold and silver, molybdenum, tellurium, and sulfuric acid. Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich ore body of the Bingham Canyon Mine since 1903 and is one of the top producing mines in the world, comprising approximately 11 percent of U.S. annual copper production.
