Job Summary:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
* Execute duties in an efficient and safe manner
* Execute projects related to cost savings
* Calculate cost savings potential
* Execute projects related to plant capacity improvement
* Execute projects related to yield improvement
* Review and optimize burner and ventilation systems
* Work with in house R&D on new product development
* Direct testing at vendor locations
* Define equipment and process specifications for new products
* Define scope and process flow related to new products
* Input and review of engineering design plans
* Provide start up assistance to new processes or changes to processes
* Conduct annual Coloring Plant audits including improvement recommendations and reporting
* Provide support to plants on technical issues and/or questions
* Maintenance of Process Flow Diagrams
* Perform other duties as assigned

Technical knowledge/skills
* Mineral Processing including crushing/screening (intermediate knowledge)
* Coatings application process (entry knowledge)
* Project Management, Planning, and Scheduling (entry to intermediate knowledge)
* Material handling (entry to intermediate knowledge)
* Optimizing air:fuel ratios, troubleshooting burner and control systems (advanced knowledge)
* Ventilation monitoring and design modifications to ensure effectiveness (advanced knowledge)
* Engineering / equipment design (entry to intermediate knowledge)
* AutoCAD preferred, not required
* Regulations of safe handling and registration of materials (entry knowledge)

General knowledge/skills
* Computer (intermediate knowledge)

Education/Experience*
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering
* 5+ years process engineering experience, preferably mineral processing
* Demonstrated experience with burner systems, combustion processes, and industrial
ventilation systems (fans, ductwork, dust collectors, scrubbers)

Travel Requirements: 30-50% domestically

Working Conditions: Office, travel, and outdoors/indoors within a Process Plant and Mine environment

Physical Requirements: Computer, ability to make oral presentations, lifting objects up to 50 lbs.,
standing or sitting for extended periods, extended or irregular hours, bending, climbing, kneeling,
stooping, walking on uneven terrain. Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment and
work outdoors in temperature extremes.
