About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Adviser to act as a business partner with the California sites' management teams and liaise with Rio Tinto support functions on behalf of the business unit in connection with finance support delivery. The position is based in Boron, Ca., and presence at that site is required with occasional remote work and visits to the Company's other locations.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintains effective reporting mechanisms to ensure internal stakeholders are provided with insightful and appropriate analysis of financial performance.
  • Provides analyses to internal stakeholders on all matters of potentially significant financial impact to the company, including economic and competitive trends, pricing, cash flow, product line evaluation and capital additions.
  • Interprets monthly, quarterly and annual financial results for the assigned perimeter (e.g. Business
  • Unit).

What you will need for this role

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in a manufacturing or mining industries
  • Bring an improvement mindset to challenge accepted processes and recommend new ideas
  • Proven independence and resourcefulness
  • Ability to engage effectively (written and verbal) with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Strong MS Office Skillset (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI ...)
  • SAP experience

It would also be beneficial if you have:

  • CMA or CPA designation or MBA
