Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am- 5:00 pm

Your role with us

As a Medical Assistant at the Edgewater Clinic, you will play a critical role in patient care by assessing and monitoring patients, recognizing urgent conditions, and supporting physicians with timely diagnostic data. You'll coordinate and execute medical orders, perform clinical procedures and lab tests, and ensure thorough documentation and discharge planning. Your ability to adapt to patient flow, prioritize urgent needs, and communicate effectively ensures a safe and efficient care environment.

What you'll do

  • Assess and monitor patientsfor life-threatening conditions, report changes promptly, and intervene when care falls outside normal protocols.
  • Obtain patient histories and vital signs, reassessing after treatment and ensuring accurate clinical documentation.
  • Coordinate and carry out physician orders, anticipating diagnostic needs and supporting patient care workflows.
  • Perform waived lab testingand maintain competency in quality control and patient testing procedures.
  • Ensure proper medication administrationwithin scope and clinic protocols, with a focus on safety and security.
  • Provide comprehensive discharge instructions, involve family when appropriate, and facilitate referrals and community resources.
  • Accurately document all patient interactionsin Epic Ambulatory, including calls, visits, and billing charges.
Required qualifications
  • Must hold current medical assistant certification from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or equivalent.

Additional Information

  • BLS(Basic Life Support) required within 30 days of hire.
  • The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a healthcare setting.
