Join DTECH Mission Solutions: Cubic's industry-leading provider of compute and networking solutions at the tactical edge!

DTECH is looking for a talented Senior System Engineer to join our mission-focused team. At DTECH, we enable edge users to connect, secure, and analyze mission-critical data with trusted, scalable, and intuitive edge technologies. Our platforms provide a decisive advantage, combining advanced computing and networking capabilities to drive performance in the most demanding environments. Every solution we develop is mission-engineered for reliability and survival in challenging conditions, with an eye toward continual innovation for the next mission.

Why Join Us?

  • Work with mission-proven technologies that help save lives and power some of the most critical operations.
  • Help create solutions that solve the biggest challenges for the warfighter.
  • Be part of a team that is redefining the future of edge computing and networking.
  • Enjoy a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your contributions make a direct impact.
  • Hybrid work model with flexibility, offering 3 days on-site per week and a 9/80 schedule.

What You'll Do:

Product Ownership

  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on product configuration and usage, and the different ways the product is utilized by the end user.
  • Perform root cause analysis and investigation during product development, manufacturing, or customer field support operations.
  • Support development and maintenance of various testing procedures, scripts, and automation for use in product verification and manufacturing QA testing.

System Architecture

  • Identify the customer's problems and needs by performing stakeholder and use-case analyses.
  • Decompose stakeholder requirements and use cases to translate customer needs into a system architecture using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.
  • Develop logical architectures that capture systems via object-oriented and modular design principles.
  • Create state machine diagrams that demonstrate how a system should behave based on external signals ("black box" definition).
  • Use MBSE to drive and ensure traceability between customer needs, product requirements, engineering designs, and validation procedures.

Product Verification and Validation

  • Develop testing strategy informed by product architecture, requirements, and system definition.
  • Manage product testing plans and procedures, ensuring capture of cross-functional testing efforts, and generation of searchable test reports which includes details of test setup, parameters, and pass/fail criteria.
  • Coordinate with external vendors to execute product certifications such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, and CE compliance.

Edge Network and Compute Technology Expert

  • Research new test equipment to improve test effectiveness and reduce quality escapes, giving our customers solutions they can trust.
  • Identify "commercial off the shelf" (COTS) products that could be integrated into products or proof of concept demonstrations for obtaining customer feedback.
  • Maintain relevant vendor relationships to stay abreast of technological advances that can be applied to DTECH's product domain.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in system engineering or a related discipline, with 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent demonstrated performance (i.e., US Veteran with operational experience in baseband communications equipment).
  • US citizenship and eligibility for security clearance.
  • Understand the Problem:Help us solve our customer's biggest problems by thinking like they do. Give them everything they need, and nothing they don't.
  • Modular Design:Create flexible architectures that allow many design options. Develop requirements that dictate product behavior, not the implementation.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration:Work effectively across a wider team of diverse engineering expertise.
  • Efficiency:Work to meet project deadlines and raise any issues preventing this to your manager.
  • Attention to detail:Ensure requirements traceability from the test procedure to system requirements. Drive thorough and complete product testing that flows from a deep understanding of product definition and warfighter usage. Ensure we find the product defects before a customer does.
